My name is Amanda Goodwin and I am mom to 2 kids, Ariana and Addison. Ariana is in 2nd Grade at Thornton, and Addison will be joining Kindergarten in 2026. In the real world I’m a therapist at Goodwin Counseling Services and this is my first year being president if the Thornton Central School PTO! I am so excited to see what positive changes we can bring to our students and community!
When my oldest started at Thornton, we did not know anyone. We had gone to daycare/preschool outside of Thornton so we didn’t have those built-in connections everyone seemed to have on the first day of kindergarten. I wanted to connect with my Thornton community and get to know our new school faculty and administration. I decided to reach out to our PTO and see how I could get involved. And I joined the first monthly PTO meeting. It was a very small group of people working together to support the school however I felt that I could be an asset. It was great be part of such an open and collaborative working group within our school community. By being a part of the PTO I feel intricately connected to the school. I want to show my kids what community is and allow them to be a part of something larger.
Even if you only have a small window of time to help, it’s worthwhile. The PTO can use you for 30 minutes of set-up for an event table, or as a room parent to help your child’s teacher, or chaperoning a field trip. My grandmother always said “many hands make light work” an adage I can see come to life every day at Thornton Central School.
I hope you'll join us at the next PTO meeting. We can't do it without you!

My name is Kassandra Campbell. My favorite job is being mother to my two kiddos: Mykah who is now entering 3rd grade and Myles who turns one in June. I am also a wife, dog/cat mom, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. When I'm not with my family I am at the hospital taking care of patients in an acute care setting as a Registered Nurse. I have been a nurse for 6 years and nursing has truely changed our lives!
In my free time I love to spend time outside hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, sledding, skiing, and sitting around a fire. Exercise and outdoor time of any kind fills my cup!
I love to encourage my kiddos to also enjoy exercise, nature and trying new things as well, so you'll find me tagging along to sports practice, games, or other various activities for something new. Or adding activities to our yard at home to keep us moving/busy and entertained outside.
I do my best to try new things, one of those things being when I joined the PTO in 2023. I hope by doing so I give back to my community but most importantly, as a mom, I hope by doing so I am giving my kids new experiences, connections, and opportunities to learn and grow in the Thornton community.
Helping with PTO has been really rewarding for me...I have enjoyed it so much! I look forward to another year and can't wait to continue to help grow our efforts for the school, the kids and the community as we roll into another year. I also love feedback and ideas! So any are always appreciated. We are a fairly small group of active members but we are doing our best to have a big and positive impact!

I’m a mom who has 2 kiddos that attend Thornton Central School. I wanted to find a way to be more involved with them at school so I thought being a part of the PTO would be fun.
I have 20 years in banking/financial experience so being the Treasurer of the PTO is a great opportunity. When not doing PTO stuff my husband and I own Ruffled Feathers Property Services business doing cleaning and landscaping in Waterville Valley. When we are not working you can always find us working around our own house or enjoying kayaking, biking or skiing with the kiddos.
I look forward to making some lasting relationships with other parents in the community while supporting our local school and our children.

I am a father to 2 rambunctious boys, aged 8 (TCS 2nd grader going into 3rd) and 5 (incoming TCS kindergartener). I am an Air Force veteran of 10 years and currently an Air Force contractor working with bases around the country. I am very dedicated to serving our country and our community. My wife is very involved with the local community and has parents that have been residents of Thornton for decades.
I have 20 years of experience working with various organizations from the Boys Scouts (I’m an Eagle Scout), military, to commercial businesses. I wanted a way for my experience and my dedication of family to provide a way to give back to the community. Being a part of the TCS PTO is a great mix of both and is fulfilling in many ways. We feel better connected with the town in our multi-generational home; it brings us closer to the school and the town of Thorton.
No job or role is too big as the role of Secretary can be balanced with having a full-time job and still getting the kids to their after-school activities. We go to karate, take music lessons and do anything we can to be a part of making this community and school the best it can be.
Tell those DADS out there, being a PTO board member isn’t just for the Moms!
